KAUNAS CULTURAL CENTRE “TAUTOS NAMAI”

Masterpieces of Kaunas interwar architecture are living witnesses of history, telling about the prosperity and modernization of the city. Built in 1940, this building is one of the 44 Kaunas interwar modernist architectural objects, which in 2015 received recognition and were awarded the European Heritage Label. Kaunas Cultural Centre resembles an administrative building, with its dry, austere architecture. Located next to the junction of two streets, it looks like a monolithic cube. From offices to the hall, it serves as a multifuntional building, but the most beautiful part of it is the lobby with two wide parallel sets of stairs and stained glass windows.
